Happy Summertime!

This month's inspirational message is: A Season For Everything...

Summer officially begins on June 21st. It is a season of relaxation, vacations plus getting together with family and friends. I find this period to be rejuvenating to my soul after visiting with family, friends and enjoying the warmer weather outdoors. 

Ecclesiastes 3:1 says there's a "season for every activity under the heavens"- a time to plant and to harvest, to weep and to laugh, to mourn and to dance. I have heard these scriptures throughout the years but only did I begin to understand their true meaning during this season of my life.

After 9 1/2 years of the charity founded by our 13 yr old daughter, Bella, I received our requested and approved termination letter of closing as my husband and I approach retirement. We are only transitioning into the next phase of God's plan for our lives as we continue partnering with pediatric cancer research through the Osteosarcoma Institute along with other ways to continue Bella's story for God's glory. My mentors have assured me that there is a season for everything.

Each season is finite and passes onto the next one when its work is done. Even though we can't always see or understand what the next season holds, God is working on something significant in us through each one. For in God's hands, seasons have a purpose in our lives. Let's trust in His renewing of our mind, body and spirit so we can share God's love with others in every season.

As we approach retirement and close the nonprofit at the end of this year, we are continuing our partnership with the Osteosarcoma Institute in memory of Bella for better treatments and hopes of survival for others battling this rare and aggressive bone cancer. There hasn't been a new treatment in over 40 years. Since OSI's inception in 2017 they already have 2 clinical trials and their administrative salaries are covered by a private foundation. They are focused on the cure!

Bella's dying wish was to find better treatments so that no child would suffer from this painful disease like she did and that there would be a cure one day. Therefore, a science fundraising page at OSI has been established in her memory at this link:
