Christmas is around the corner and we wish all of you a Merry Christmas filled with love of family and friends.

The monthly message is: In Awe and Wonder

Think back to a time when you were in awe of something....maybe the birth of a child, seeing snow or the ocean for the first time. It gave you a sense of peace and amazement. There is also something so pure about experiencing awe and wonder through the eyes of a child. Perhaps it is their innocence which tends to lessen as we become adults.

  I can only imagine the awe and wonder the Magi felt once they saw the infant Jesus. They rode over 2,000 miles on camels from the east, following a star, where it showed ever so brightly over where Jesus was born.  They brought him their best gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh; the very best to honor the newborn King.

In this season where the nativity is prominently on display, each one of us can still experience that awe and wonder of the birth of our Savior. In a world that is overflowing with challenges, fears, sickness, addictions, worry, depression, etc...we can focus our eyes on the nativity and the miraculous infant, Jesus, who came to save the world! If we fasten our minds upon this truth it will become a more powerful presence than our fears. As the prophet Isaiah told God's people in Judah, what we truly need is to fix our minds on God. "You will keep in perfect peace" Isaiah promises, "all who trust in you".  (Isaiah 26:3 NLT) And we can "trust in the Lord always, for the Lord God is the eternal Rock". (v. 4 NLT)

Peace, this is the gift for all who fix their eyes on God. His peace provides far more than we can comprehend. For those who will surrender their future, their hopes, and their worries, the Spirit will make a way where we can look in awe and wonder knowing it was only possible through Jesus, the light of the world. 

Scripture verse: Luke 5:26 Everyone was gripped with great wonder and awe, and they praised God, exclaiming, “We have seen amazing things today!”
